HAVANA -- A Cuban newspaper is accusing government opponents on the
island and in the U.S. of plotting to disrupt next week's visit by Pope
Benedict XVI.

The Communist Party daily Granma notes last week's occupation of a
Havana church and weekend protests that prompted dozens of brief arrests.

The full-page article alleges that the dissidents are taking money and
instructions from "counterrevolutionary organizations" in Miami. It says
they are plotting "provocations and disrespectful actions."

Also Wednesday, the leader of an opposition group said her husband had
been released from custody.

Dissident Angel Moya was detained Sunday and returned to his home
Tuesday in a patrol car.
